Star Jones Talks Heart Health with PEOPLE
In honor of Mother’s Day and Women’s Health Month, Star Jones had an exclusive conversation with People Magazine about the heart disease diagnosis she received in 2010 and how she had to face how close she was to death. With heart disease being the leading cause of death among women in the US, Jones is raising much-needed awareness. In fact, only 45% of women have ever had a conversation about their family health history with their mother or grandmothers, according to a custom survey from Wakefield Research and Medtronic of 1,000 women in the US, ages 30 to 50, with a living mother and a living child. In addition, the survey found 1 in 3 women have not talked with their doctor about their heart health.
