‘Tis the season to celebrate – so get out the twinkle lights, don your ugly sweater and pour yourself some eggnog. A recent omnibus survey of 1,000 Americans 18 and older by Wakefield Research revealed this year’s top gift categories for the 90% of Americans who will be celebrating Christmas. Surprisingly, the survey reveals that the “it” items this year are apparel, not electronics. Here’s a peek at the top 3 Christmas gift categories of 2017 for adults:
- Apparel and personal care items, such as clothing or cosmetics (33%)
- Money or gift cards (27%)
- Electronics and tech items, such as electronics, cell phones or game consoles (26%)
With the big day upon us, millions of tiny tots will be waiting to see if their letters made it to the man in red at the North Pole. When it comes to children’s Christmas lists, the survey finds that they’re more gaga for gadgets than their moms and dads. Here’s a look at the top 3 categories parents report their kids will be looking for under the tree this year:
- Electronics (37%)
- Dolls, action figures or stuffed animals (29%)
- Interactive or creative items (18%)
Here’s to hoping everyone finds themselves on the “nice list” this year!
