Potential for Mistakes Is Making Executives Wary of AI for Some Tasks
Artificial intelligence is proving useful for lots of tasks in the corporate world, but there’s still some hesitation for letting the AI run completely autonomously, especially for mission-critical work. And that’s causing executives to be wary, “because we don’t have the ability to test whether it’s right or not.”
That’s a warning from Goldman Sachs senior chairman and former CEO Lloyd Blankfein, whose recent comments on AI tech were the subject of an article in Fortune. The piece cites a Maximor AI report based on a survey conducted by Wakefield Research that found only 14% of CFOs completely trust AI to deliver accurate accounting data on its own.
As companies ramp up their generative and agentic AI efforts, there’s more trust in the systems that needs to be built before some of the most important functions can be handled with complete autonomy, the Fortune article suggests.
