Wakefield’s Nathan Richter is featured in the February issue of Pet Business magazine. The cover story, “What Tomorrow Brings” delves into challenges that the pet industry will face in the coming years, including the Millennial generation’s foray into pet ownership. Richter offers insight into the importance of the younger consumer audience, stating, “It would be shortsighted to ignore younger pet owners and potential pet owners who may not currently have the purchasing power of older consumers.”
In addition to this month’s Pet Business feature, Richter will also speak at the upcoming Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) annual conference. His presentation, “The Millennial Pet Owner,” will kick off the conference on Wednesday, April 23rd, and will explore key trends of the Millennial generation. Richter will present new research on Millennials’ preferences and behaviors as pet owners, answering key marketing questions, such as:
- How do they differ from older generations of pet owners?
- What are the implications of these behaviors for the pet industry?
- How does social media and the digital world impact purchase behavior among pet owners?
