Parents Are Not Confident They Can Teach Kids About Investing. Here’s How Advisors Say to Get Started
Wakefield Research survey data has been featured on CNBC Power Lunch. The SIFMA Foundation (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association) and Wakefield partnered to survey U.S. parents of K-12 students. The study found that 9 in 10 parents (91 percent) believe that a class about investing would be more valuable than many classes students are already required to take. Parents especially think it would be advantageous because they don’t feel that they have the ability to teach them about the subject themselves. In fact, only 22 percent of those parents feel “completely confident” in their financial literacy and investment knowledge teaching capabilities.
