In a national survey by Princess Cruises and Wakefield Research, Jay Leno and Chelsea Handler came out on top as the late-night hosts people would want as a “beach buddy” for a day.

Of the 1,000 American adults who participated in the Princess Cruises 2012 Relaxation Report, the two late night hosts each garnered 24% of the votes.

Jimmy Fallon got 21% of the votes, Jimmy Kimmel got 16%, and David Letterman got 15%.

The votes reflected the generational split between those who participated: Boomers (those between the ages of 48-62) and Millenials (those between 18-31). Nearly a third of the Boomers voted for Leno while slightly over a third of the Millenials voted for Handler.
