The busiest month for weddings is upon us, and while the traditions of the ceremony itself have changed very little, technology has become almost as essential as the exchanging of vows.
These days, expect the bride-to-be to show up at the bridal shop armed with a mobile device.
A survey for David’s Bridal found 59 percent of brides used sites like Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram for inspiration.
In all, 68 percent use technology to text or post videos during dress-fittings, and 6 percent download wedding apps to help keep plans in place.
Crowdsourcing apps on the day of the wedding can save money, which is what budget guru Catey Hill said you should do for the photography.
“People are using their smartphones at weddings to take pictures, which is great because you have all of those photos that people took that are just candid shots of your best friend and people just snap it with their iPhones now,” she said.
