What Would I Do at Wakefield?

Wakefield is seeking a Research Manager to lead research studies for Thought Leadership as well as for Strategy & Insight.  This candidate will lead projects as a senior-level researcher, consult with clients, and help our Research & Thought Leadership divisions by doing the following:

  • Direct quantitative research and analysis
  • Design technically sound questionnaires for clients based on their objectives
  • Implement client edits and revisions to finalize questionnaires
  • Analyze custom market research studies and prepare insights and recommendations
  • Consult with and guide clients through the research process
  • Work as part of a diverse team and interact effectively with all levels of management

The Research Manager will work with a dynamic project team of fieldwork analysts and writers – working together to guide companies and help brands grow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3+ years of experience leading quantitative market research studies at a market research agency
  • 3+ years of experience forming conclusions and providing compelling written reports to clients that support those findings
  • 3+ years of experience managing questionnaire development – writing, editing, and finalizing surveys
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel experience
  • SPSS or SAS experience preferred

Survey Programmer & Field Work Analyst

What Would I Do at Wakefield?

Wakefield is seeking a Survey Programmer to program and help manage research studies for Thought Leadership as well as for Strategy & Insight. This candidate will work remotely and support Wakefield Research’s Fieldwork division by doing the following:

  • Program and monitor online surveys
  • Conduct data checks throughout the fielding process
  • Prepare methodologically sound screening and demographic metrics for surveys
  • Research and prepare benchmarks for survey audiences
  • Communicate with internal team members and provide consultancy on technical matters such as questionnaire programming and audience characteristics

The Survey Programmer will work with a dynamic project team of researchers and writers – working together to guide companies and help brands grow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with survey data and data reviews
  • 2+ years of experience with survey and vendor management
  • SPSS, R, or Python experience is a plus

Senior Writer - Finance & Tech

Calling all journalists! Wakefield Research is seeking a Senior Writer with an expertise in finance and tech and experience reporting for top-tier news organizations to join our talented Editorial team. This is a remote position and will cover a range of topics, the majority of them finance and tech related but may also include business (B2B and B2C), health and travel, among others.

This role reports to the Manager of Editorial and will join an accomplished team who have written for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, ABC News, NBC News, The Atlantic, CNN and several other top-tier publications.

The ideal candidate will have a nose for news, an understanding of the current media landscape and the ability to work with a team to develop survey questions. These surveys will provide newsworthy and insightful data that journalists will want to cover and the public will want to read.

Specifically, the senior writer will assess the media landscape of a particular topic, generate newsworthy ideas and narratives for survey questions around that topic and use the data produced by our research team to tell a compelling and well written news story.

This is a full-time remote position (9-5:30pm ET time zone) with generous benefits. The candidate must reside in one of the following states: AL, DC, CO, FL, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, NJ, PA, SC, TX, VA

Desired Skills:

  • 7+ years work experience in journalism with top-tier media bylines
  • A proven expertise reporting on finance and tech topics. This could include economic trends, ETFs, AI, Cyber Security and Data Centers, among others
  • Superior writing and editing skills: Ability to produce top-notch copy on a variety of subjects
  • Excellent communications skills: Can provide high-level verbal and written client consultation
  • Highly creative: Ability to independently and quickly pitch creative concepts for news stories
  • News background: Knowledge of the news cycle and journalism trends;
  • Deadline-oriented: Ability to organize time and manage multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Team Player: Ability to work as part of a diverse team and interact professionally and effectively with peers, managers and clients
