With billions of dollars being spent on AI technologies across the corporate world, some in tech leadership roles are feeling the pressure to get a return on those huge investments. And according to a majority of CIOs and CTOs at companies with revenue exceeding $500 million, executive leaders may not have expectations in line with reality.

In an article about AI’s growing pains for Forbes, Kolawole Samuel Adebayo highlighted Solvd’s CIO & CTO Insights: AI Research 2025, which found that 71% of those tech leaders believe their executive leadership has unrealistic expectations about the return on investment (ROI)  for AI technologies. The report was based on findings from Wakefield Research, which also included data on AI governance and how regulations are affecting the adoption of technologies at these companies.

The report was based on a survey of 500 U.S. CIOs and CTOs.
