A Quarter of Parents With Teens Struggle With Talking About Social Media

What are the hang-ups parents have in talking with their teenagers about social media use? A new custom survey from Wakefield Research and Meta, of 1,000 U.S. parents of teens aged 13 to 17, found that 26% of caregivers 45 and older find it hard to talk to their teen about social media because “it doesn’t seem like a big deal.” Another 18% of younger parents said the same. The survey findings are featured in Parents and also reveal older parents are less likely to know what issues to discuss.
